In preparation for our Doggie Dash event for Oregon Humane Society, River and I cooked up some peanut butter, pumpkin, and the secret ingredient - ham - doggy biscuits.
Even River (a notoriously picky eater) gobbled them right up:
These biscuits are pretty easy to make.
Here is the recipe, or you can download a printable PDF.
River’s Favorite Biscuits:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 of a 15-oz can of pumpkin puree
- 2 2.5-oz jars of ham baby food
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of cooked oats
- 3 cups of oat flour
- 2 large spoonfuls of coconut oil (melted)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine peanut butter, pumpkin, ham baby food, eggs, and coconut oil in a bowl.
Add in oats and mix. Slowly add in oat flour until it is difficult to stir.
Once a stiff dough has formed, roll out dough with rolling pin until it is a little less than 1/4-in thick.
Use cookie cutter to cut out dog bone shapes.
Bake for about 15 minutes (or until golden and hard to the touch).
Allow to cool and enjoy!
