Startup Celebrates Pups Finding “Furever” Homes
Portland, OR (April 17, 2018) – Whyld River, a new adventure dog gear company from Portland, will be on hand April 21st to celebrate Puplandia’s 2nd Birthday and milestone of more than 200 dogs rescued. The event will be held at noon at the HazelDale Dog Park off 192nd and Farmington. Dog lovers are encouraged to join in the festivities where they can also meet local entrepreneurs, Brook Benson, of Puplandia, and Rachel Bauman, of Whyld River and hear their stories.
Whyld River announced the partnership with Puplandia earlier this year on Instagram to more than 2,000 followers who were watching for updates on the DoggyBag (dog sleeping bag). Photos of adoptable pups trying out the latest sleeping bag prototypes are featured on the Whyld River web site.
The DoggyBag, which is now available for pre-sales, is the brain child of recent graduate from the Portland-based University of Oregon Sports Product Management Program, Rachel Bauman, who won their prestigious Entrepreneurship Award last month. Bauman’s rescue dog, River, is the inspiration behind the business. A native Oregonian, Bauman, developed the best dog sleeping bag and then tested it with her best friend, River, on nearby trails over the winter.
Built to human quality standards, the DoggyBag was created with the canine adventurer in mind. It can be used as a travel bed, a sleeping bag or just a cozy and safe space to for any pup to call their own. Skittish dogs, like River, will appreciate the use of snaps instead of zippers since they are safer, make less noise, and allow for more freedom of movement. A unique draft sleeve design in the bag makes this product perfect for cold nights on the trail or snuggling up on the road. Each product features reflective logos for easy use on dark nights and come with their own lightweight stuff sacks.
The DoggyBag comes in three sizes (Small, Medium, and Large) and costs $89.00, with a special 10% discount for the first 100 pre-orders. Just in time for winter hiking season, this hard working product, will deliver in October 2018. For every 10 sold, 1 will be donated to Portland Animal Welfare Team.
